British Columbia has started issuing provincial attestation letters (PAL) effective March 4, 2024,
The PAL will allow prospective international students who have gained admission to Canadian post-secondary institutions to apply for Canadian study permit.
B.C. is only the second province to get a process in place, after Quebec.
Here’s What You Need to Know:
1. B.C. will issue PALs directly to universities and colleges.
2. The institutions will then send PALs to students or their counsellors.
3. PALs will only be issued for programs with at least 50% in-person learning.
4. Once a student has their PAL, they can apply for their study permit.
